Where it all Started

I absolutely love what I do. Since I was a little girl Ive had a serious love of nature, and flowers. My sister and I had a favorite game we used to play when we were children. We would go out back and hang out underneath our favorite tree, and pretend to concoct magical potions with flowers, berries, twigs and I'm sure a little mud. It wasn't until later in life that I realized I should be chasing that passion, after all I still thought flowers were pretty magical. My left brain had driven me through life; attending business school, working my way through college, and landing a great job in finance after graduation. Despite my relative professional success, years went by and I was unfulfilled.  It wasn't until family and friends planning DIY weddings began to ask me if I would help them with their flowers did it occur to me that my creative outlet could possibly be my career.  From that moment I began to teach my self as much as possible. I bought books, took classes, and started practicing every free chance I had.

It is scary to reinvent your self. It is scary to walk away from a stable career to chase a dream. But I think it would be even scarier to let your dreams slip through your fingertips. Scarier to wake up in 20 years and ask, what if? Luckily for me I had the support of my husband, family, and friends.  Less than two years ago this was just an idea,  and today I am the owner of a growing boutique business that I am so incredibly proud of, and sometimes it still surprises me.   The moral of this story?  YOLO, so get after your dreams now.

For the Love of Garden Roses.

I love garden roses. Caramel Antike is a favorite of mine - they come out to play quite a bit in my Autumn designs. I couldn't resist shooting these beauties last time I had them in the studio, and wanted to share them on this chilly October Monday.  This weekend seemed to fly by even though it was quiet and relaxing.  Broke out all of my cozy sweaters,  had a really nice dinner out with my husband,  went to the dog wash with Bowser, and  snuck in some proposal writing.  But sometimes that's the best, just catching up on life.

A September Wedding at Moraine Farm

This sneek peak from Stacie Kirkwood Photography has me so excited to see the entire gallery!  I loved that my bride wasn't afraid to choose soft blush florals for a September Wedding.  You don't have to let the season dictate your style, it's OK to just be your self and choose what you love! We used lots of seasonal blooms including Dinner Plate Dahlias, Pee Gee Hydrangea, and Fragrant blooming Mint.  Also in the mix were lush Garden Roses, Astilbe, and Hellebore.

Featured: Style Me Pretty

Its been a little while since I've posted and I'm thrilled to share that a wedding we worked on this past spring was recently featured on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book Blog. The wedding was designed by the bride herself, held at the New Bedford Whaling Museum and all photo's were captured by Ruth Eileen Photography.  I just loved the preppy Kate Spade inspired florals,  they were the perfect dose of fun for this late spring wedding.

A Spring Wedding in Newport

We recently created florals for a seaside wedding that was held at the Officer's Club in Newport RI.  The Groom served in the Navy and is now a Boston Police officer and his bride was as sweet as could be. We loved creating these bright florals filled with peonies and garden roses for our lovely couple.   The beautiful images were all captured by Sherrell Photography.  Congratulations Lacey and Kevin, we were so thrilled to be a part of your special day! bouquet 1
