Farewell 2013

I can hardly believe that the Holiday Season has officially come and gone. With 2013 just behind us,  I'm feeling pretty retrospective today.  I've never been much for making lists of New Year's resolutions, but this year I found my self doing just that and I can't help but feel more excited for the coming year knowing I have a set of goals to tackle. I've realized one of the reasons I haven't been posting here regularly is because I have a hard time finding my voice when it comes to sharing on the Internet. Actively using social media is kind of a new thing for me...I really only hopped on the wagon when I started my business back in 2012....and I tend to (like so many) want to share my "best self".   My goal for this blog this year, is to do a little more sharing of the behind the scenes and more of the "real me" ;  The floral designer, the home decor lover, the cocktail enthusiast, the wife, the friend, the bulldog mom.....and if you read this little blog, I hope you find something here that means something to you too. Something inspiring, something pretty, something that makes you happy.

2013 was a really good year, hard, but rewarding.  My business has grown more than I could have imagined, My husband and I have made a home for our selves in a town we love, and despite growing busier, I feel like I have found a way for life to feel more simplified and fulfilling, and for that I am thankful.  Here's to a 2014 that is filled with Peace, Love, and Adventure.

DIY: Fairy Tale Wreath

Our Fairytale wreaths are a cross between a floral arrangement and a pine holiday wreath, two of my favorite things this time of year. It's a pretty and whimsical touch that would be perfect for highlighting a cocktail menu or a cheery holiday note.  We're giving you all the DIY instructions below so you can whip one up for your own Holiday festivities!

DIY Fairy Tale Wreath:

Supplies:

  1. Wire Wreath Ring
  2. Dried Grape Vine
  3. Floral Wire
  4. Cedar Pine
  5. 2-3 Garden Roses

Steps:

  1. Wrap Grape Vine around wire wreath frame, and secure with wire as you go, about every six inches.
  2. Take three sprigs of cedar and hold in a bundle. Secure this bundle at the bottom of your wreath facing outward using your wire. Repeat in the opposite direction.
  3. To attach flowers cut stem off, leaving about an inch so you can handle the bloom. Run a six inch length of wire through the base of the flower, then snip the remaining stem. You can now adhere the flower to your wreath by wrapping the wire around the desired spot. Repeat for your other blooms.
  4. Voila! You should have a decorative whimsical fairytale wreath to dress up your party!

Winter Whites

I know its been a little while since I've posted over here...the Season has changed, Thanksgiving has gone by, and Christmas is upon us.  December is actually my very favorite month of the year. And how could it not be? The twinkly lights, the fresh scent of pine, and so many excuses to celebrate with family and friends.  I love creating arrangements for the holidays...I look forward to it so after Wedding season ends. Last month I created this beauty along with a few others to dress up a client's home for Thanksgiving. I know that the Turkey was the star of the night, but I cant help but hope these blooms made the evening feel a little extra special.
